Your brows frame your whole face, and I love helping clients find the shape that suits them best. Whether you're after a quick tidy-up, a full brow transformation with lamination or henna, or beautifully lifted lashes, I use quality products and take the time to get things just right. First-timers are always welcome at my salon in Whitefield, Manchester.
These three get confused constantly, so here is the difference. A tint is colour. It darkens the hairs you already have, which makes sparse brows read as fuller and saves you drawing them on each morning. It typically lasts around three to four weeks as the hairs naturally shed.
Brow lamination is not colour at all, it is shape. The hairs are softened and set into position, so brows that grow stubbornly downwards or in three directions at once are brushed up and held there. It is the treatment behind the fluffy, brushed-up look, and it lasts around six weeks. Henna sits somewhere in between: it tints the hair like a regular tint, but it also stains the skin underneath for a few days, which gives the illusion of more density where there are gaps.
Plenty of clients combine them. Lamination for shape and a tint for depth in the same appointment is one of the most popular things I do, and the two work well together because one fixes direction while the other fixes definition.
I will not talk you into a brow that is fashionable this year but wrong for your face. Before I touch anything we look at what you actually have to work with: your natural arch, how your bone structure sits, whether there are gaps from years of over-plucking. Brows are sisters rather than twins, and chasing perfect symmetry is usually what makes them look overdone.
If you are growing brows back after over-plucking, be patient with me. The right answer is often to take less off for the first couple of appointments and let the shape build, rather than tidying aggressively and locking in the same thin brow you are trying to escape.
A lash lift curls your own lashes from the root, so they open the eye without any extensions to maintain and nothing to fill in every few weeks. Add a tint and dark lashes do the work mascara was doing. Results usually hold for six to eight weeks, which is the natural lash growth cycle.
For the first 24 hours after any lash or brow treatment, keep the area dry and skip makeup on it. No swimming, no steam rooms, no sunbeds. After a tint, avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup removers, because oil is what strips the colour out fastest and will cut short how long you get from it.
